THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF VIETNAM LATIN CHAMPIONSHIP

I. AIMS

• To promote the development of Salsa/Bachata dance, and encourage the practice and competitions among dancers practising in all over Vietnam.
• To create a healthy activity for community to enhance physical health, and help bring people closer together through attractive Salsa/Bachata moves.
• To open a good opportunity for dancers to meet and learn from each other in order to improve their dance techniques and skills as well as build motivation for them to make continuous efforts in dance practice.

III. REGULATIONS & CONTENT OF THE COMPETITION

• 1. Competition format: Ranking the contestants
• 2. Who can participate?

• All people who have practised or are practising Salsa / Bachata from all over Vietnam. Foreigner contestants are accepted and Vietnamese nationality is optional.
• Only accept the couple of one male and one female contestant (other cases are invalid)

• 3. Who are unaccepted? No restriction
• 4. Content of the competition:

• Vietnam Open Latin Championship is a contest within the framework of Hanoi International Latin Festival 2017 event. It includes 2 nights of performing and a night to announce the results. The details are as follows:
• 2 main categories: Salsa Championship and Bachata Championship. After the competition, the Champions of each category will be awarded and honoured.
• 31st March: Bachata Championship
• 1st April: Salsa Championship
• 2nd April: Announce the results and rewards accordingly

IV. CONTEST RULES

• There will be only ONE Performance round carried out (Social Dance Round is no longer required).
• To ensure the contest’s quality, there will be an elimination round for both Salsa and Bachata Championship that will occur before the main contest.
• Each couple of contestants will prepare their choreography on their chosen songs. Each song’s length must be 2:30 minutes minimum and 3:30 minutes maximum.

A. Elimination round (Friday’s afternoon, 31 March 2017)

• The contestants will perform their prepared choreography to the Elimination round’s judges. This round will be organized secretly without any spectators. Each couple will make the draw to choose the order of their performances and perform according to their order.
• At the end of the Elimination round, the judges will discuss and choose the qualified couples to go into the Final round.

B. Performance Round (Friday’s & Saturday’s nights)

• Couples make the draw to choose the order of their performances.
• Each couple perform a Salsa choreography with their prepared music.
• After finishing Performance Round, the scores of couples will be synthesized and calculated to decide the couples winning the First Place (Champion Couple), Second Place, Third Place

V. REGISTRATION

• • Official registration: Deadline: 28th February 2017.
  • Contestants are required to send their profiles and clear couple photos.
  • Please send an email for registration to hanoilatinfestival@gmail.com.
  • Contest’s fees: The contestants will be qualified for the contestant’s promotion when buying the party-passes/full-passes for the HILF2017 (the passes already include the contest’s fees. Details are as follows:
    • Full-pass: 55USD
    • Party-pass: 40USD

VI. AWARDS

• • • First Place (Champion Couple): Each Champion in Salsa/Bachata will be awarded with Champions’ cups, certificates and monetary rewards as well as organiser’s souvenirs.
    • In addition, the champions will get:
      • 4 Full-passes of the Singapore International Latin Festival 2018 which will take place in Singapore and will be the representative of Vietnam to participate in Asia Latin Championship 2018 – great presents from the Enmotion Dance School Singapore sponsor.
      • 2 Full-passes of the Latin Festival Madras 2017 (take place in Madras, India)
  • • Second Place: The contestants will be awarded with certificates, monetary rewards and souvenirs from the organizers
    • Third Place: The contestants will be awarded with certificates, monetary rewards and souvenirs from the organizers
    • Encouragement Prizes: The contestants will be awarded with certificates and souvenirs from the organizers
