Gracielle Jeanne Tan
( USA / Philippines )
Gracielle Jeanne Tan started dancing at an early age, taking lessons and performing in a jazz and tap troupe until the age of ten. After signing up for classes at a local skating rink, she fell in love with figure skating and pursued the sport for 12 years, and ultimately had the honor of representing the Philippines in international skating competitions.
Before retiring from skating and wanting to find another outlet to fuel her passion for performance, Gracielle stumbled upon an intro to salsa class where she quickly took a liking to the music and dance, and soon enjoyed social dancing around Los Angeles.
In 2012, inspired by Rodrigo Cortazar and Selene Tovar, she joined their dance company, Los Anormales. She performed and traveled with them nationally and in Mexico before leaving for the Philippines in 2014 for medical school.
Since her Anormales experience, she has continued to train whenever she visits home, previously with Kimberli Flores, and most recently under Kati Hernandez and with Eder Avila’s salsa team, On2ourage, all who have influenced her style tremendously. She is currently living in the Philippines where she attends UERM Medical School and satellite directs Antifaz Ladies based in Long Beach, CA.
